Principal’s Message: We are off to an excellent start to the school year! We have 30 students enrolled. Our classes are not equal, Mrs. McIntosh has half the school in her class!! Thank you for sending your students to school ready to learn!
As you have probably heard, we have broken ground to start building the school. We are having a groundbreaking ceremony with our elected officials on Friday, September 8 th to mark the third year anniversary of the fire. When the school is completed, we will then have a public grand opening for the entire community! Thank you again for being so supportive with all that has been going on! Please review your child’s school work when they bring it home, and praise them for all their hard work! Children love those positive comments!!!

Hello Berry Creek parents and families. It's a new year and we're already hard at work. Math, history, language arts, social studies, art and P.E. are in full swing. As I mentioned at back to school night be sure your student is prepared with school supplies and motivation. In addition to the work we're hoping to plan some field trips in the near future for a little fun and cultural expansion. Today, (Aug. 30th) the kids were sent home with permission slips to join the band. I sure hope we have a great turnout for that. Thanks to all the parents who attended back to school night and I look forward to a fun and productive year.

Hello TK-2nd Grade Families! Welcome back to another school year! I hope you all had a fun and restful summer. Thank you to all those who participated in the Berry Creek BRAVE Experience, we all had a great time!
I know the beginning of the school year can be a bit rocky when it comes to getting back into the groove of things, so here is a short checklist of things to help your kiddos remember as they head out the door each morning: - Backpack and homework folder!
See, I told you it was short! What we will be learning:
ELA: TK and Kindergarten's first unit is called Helping Hands. This unit focuses on Social Relationships, Civics, Values, and Community. Students are taught that they should always be ready to lend a helping hand.
1st grade first unit is called Around the Neighborhood. This unit focuses on Social Relationships, Earth Science, Community, Recreation and Travel. Students are thinking about the people, places, and events that happen in neighborhoods.
2nd grade's first unit is called Neighborhood Visit. This unit focuses on Life Science, Social Relationships/Friendship, and Community. Students are asked to consider what it means to be a good friend and a positive member of a home, school, or classroom community.
MATH: TK and Kindergarten focus on number identification and counting. 1st grade is focused on addition.
2nd grade is focused on place value. We are off to a good start here in room 7. I'm looking forward to seeing the growth in all the students this year! Welcome back! Miss Perez |

From Ms. Julie’s 3rd , 4th , 5th Classroom Welcome back to school families! We’ve been in school a little over 2 weeks, and have gotten so much accomplished already. I am really
excited with this full class of eager-to-learn students. They are happy to be at school, thoughtful and considerate of each other, and mostly willing to tutor their fellow students when asked.
Students are keeping up with English Language Arts, Math, Science,
Social Studies, and the ever popular Physical Education. Interwoven within their day are the tenets of the Pyramid of Success. A Social Emotional Learning (SEL) model to teach children to make their effort in all that they do their Personal Best. This year as a strategy for
reinforcing the character traits that lead to one achieving their Personal Best, I had student make an owl to represent Coach Wooden. Please ask your child who Coach Wooden is. They all made him the same in the beginning, and are slowly personalizing their Coach Wooden character.
Students are absolutely loving our PE curriculum and are so excited about it that they ask everyday whether we’re having PE that. The curriculum has many lessons that have enhanced our ability to deliver fun, engaging, standards-based activities that encourages every child
to gleefully participate. As a gentle reminder, students should wear or bring appropriate footwear on PE days. Those days are Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
Thank you so much for trusting Berry Creek Elementary School with
the education of your children.
