Dear Golden View Families,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the newly appointed Principal of Golden View Elementary. I am humbled and honored to join this amazing community, and I look forward to working collaboratively with each and every one of you to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment for our students.
Allow me to share a little about myself. This is my 30th year in education where I have served as a teacher, a literacy coach, and an assistant principal. I have been in the San Ramon Unified School District since 2005 when my husband and I settled here with our three children. Fast forward 18 years and my children have all graduated from California High School. My two oldest children graduated from college this past spring and my youngest is off to Cal Poly Humboldt in a few weeks. I have always been passionate about fostering academic excellence, promoting a culture of inclusivity, and encouraging the holistic development of young minds. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to witness the transformative power of education in shaping the lives of students and preparing them to become responsible and contributing members of society.
As a Principal, my approach is rooted in strong communication, active engagement, and a genuine commitment to student success. I firmly believe that education is a collective effort involving educators, parents, and the community.
There are quite a few opportunities to meet you all in the beginning of the school year. Please look below for an outline of the first month of school and for a link to the district's homework policy.
On another note, you should be receiving a postcard in the mail outlining registration procedures. Registration is now live! Please read below for more information.
Again, I am excited to be part of the Gator Family.
Sincerely,
Catie Hawkins
Principal
Golden View Elementary School
