Happy Mother's Day!

Thank you for all you do for your children and our school community. Wishing you all a joyful day with your families!

Welcome Pope Leo XIV!

Our students and staff were abuzz this week and greatly enjoyed watching the announcement of our new pope - the first American-born pope! We pray for Pope Leo XIV and our universal Catholic Church that we may be united in faith.

Congratulations Peter Pan JR Cast and Crew

After many months of hard work, our cast and crew put on a wonderful production of Peter Pan JR this weekend. We are so proud of them and their dedication! Also, a huge thank you to Maria Bartolotta for leading the way as the director of the show. Last, but not least, thank you to all of the volunteers and friends of the show. We could not have done it without you!

SJS Teacher News

We thank and send our prayers and good wishes to Mrs. Molly Lawhorn and Mrs. Amanda Storey for their years at SJS as Kindergarten teachers, as they will be moving onto new endeavors next year.

We are excited for Mrs. Jessica Winterrose and Mrs. Kate Simino to transition to new roles at SJS as Kindergarten teachers for the 2025-2026 academic year.

We also thank and send our prayers and good wishes to Sr. Bridget Smith, ASCJ, who is transferred to Connecticut for a new assignment. While Sr. Bridget was here for only one year, she was a positive contributor to the Little Friends and SJS.

Mr. Will Ruzicka is moving on from his time with us as a 4th grade teacher. We will certainly miss his positive interaction with the students and his willingness to be of service.

Little Friends will have a few new faces in 2025-2026. We welcome Mrs. Anna Zwack as a 3 day JrK teacher. We also welcome Mrs. Teresa Fowler as a 5 day JrK assistant/aide and Mrs. Casey Gunter as a 3 day JrK assistant/aide. We are excited to have these ladies join the team that is already in place for our three and four-year old programs.

Mrs. Elizabeth Bokermann has been transitioning into the role of Admissions and Marketing Coordinator during the last couple of months and will be continuing in that role next year. She will also continue her work as Administrative Assistant.

At the time of this writing, SJS is interviewing for a 4th grade teacher, a learning specialist, and a Little Friends 3 day assistant/aide.

If your 8th Grader has received any scholarships or other awards, please share them with us! We would love to recognize their accomplishments in the graduation program. You may email information to Elizabeth Bokermann at ebokermann@stjosephimperial.org.

Friendly Reminders from the Health Office

Rising Kindergarten, 3rd and 6th Graders, and New Students - If your child will be in one of these grades during the 2025-2026 school year, your child must have a physical exam. Please note: physicals are valid for one (1) calendar year after the exam was performed.

Outstanding Immunization Records - If Nurse Tara has reached out to you and asked for updated immunization records, please return them prior to the last day of school. Updating the medical files during the school year while Nurse Tara is already at School allows her to be more efficient and cost-effective with her time.

Over-the-counter Medications - All parents please read. The way the enrollment packet is set-up in FACTS has caused some confusion, and we apologize. For clarification - the only way that we can administer OTCs to a child is if we have a physician’s order on file. Even if a parent gives permission to some or all of the OTC medications listed in FACTS or calls us to give verbal permission, we cannot provide medication without a physician’s order for that specific OTC medication. (For example, if the physician’s order lists Tylenol, we can only give Tylenol. We cannot give Motrin.) We recommend that all students pro-actively obtain a physician’s order for OTC medications in case of an injury or if the child develops a headache, etc. If your child does not have a physician's order on file, you may come to school to administer the medication to your child.

Prescription Medications - If your child is prescribed a medication that is taken on a regular basis, please let Nurse Tara know. Even if this medication is only taken at home, it is important for us to have this information in the student’s health file in case of an emergent situation. Relevant information includes: name of medication, dosage, and when/how often taken.

EZ School Lunch Accounts

Please check your EZ School lunch accounts. If you have an outstanding balance, please make a payment as soon as possible. All lunches should be pre-purchased by loading the account with funds prior to purchasing lunches.
