Message from Principal Kawahara

May 15, 2025

Dear Sycamore Valley Families:

We hope you will be able to join us this evening for Open House, 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Our students have been working hard to prepare for this event and are looking forward to sharing their classwork with you. Open House is always a fun event where we can welcome all of our families.  Please stop by the MPR to see the art show while you are here. Mrs. Silvestri, our art teacher, is very excited to share the artwork prepared by our amazing students. The blacktop will be open for overflow parking this evening.

Lost and Found:

Lost and Found items are on display this evening, during Open House, in the main quad by the MPR. You might be surprised to find a sweatshirt or jacket that you did not even realize was misplaced. The Lost and Found is brimming with lost items!  We will be donating all lost items on June 9th. Please be sure to check for lost items before then.

District Updates:

JUNE:
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month. SRVUSD models, advocates and actively supports the inclusive and respectful treatment of all students, employees, family members, and community members. Lack of awareness and understanding of issues facing LGBTQ+ youth has contributed to high rates of school dropout, academic failure, school disengagement, and self-harm. June is a time to celebrate our dynamic LGBTQ+ community, raise awareness of services, and foster dialogue to promote healthy, safe, and fulfilling school climates for all. Flying the progress pride flag at the District office and all District sites during the month of June symbolizes the celebration of diversity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Please keep reading for some upcoming event information, important dates and other PTA/Shark Fund News.

Thank you,

Patricia Kawahara

Principal

Hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of our library time for this year!

The goal is to have all books returned next week.  Missing  and overdue notices have also gone out via email and will continue to do so until all of the books are returned.  If your student is missing a book and needs to pay for or replace it, please do so before the last day of school so they will be in good standing at the beginning of the new school year.  These fines will stay on their student account for as long as they are in our district (until they graduate from high school!) so please help them have a clean slate going forward.
Any questions - contact Mrs. Prindiville - jprindiville@srvusd.net
