Dear SRVUSD Staff and Families,
I am incredibly proud to share that four of our outstanding elementary schools—John Baldwin Elementary, Creekside Elementary, Neil Armstrong Elementary, and Greenbrook Elementary have been named 2025 California Distinguished Schools! This prestigious recognition from State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond celebrates schools that demonstrate exceptional student performance or a commitment to closing the achievement gap.
Since 1985, the California Distinguished Schools Program has recognized the potential and promise of students, educators, and schools across the state. The California Department of Education (CDE) uses a comprehensive set of measures, as reflected in the California School Dashboard, to identify schools that excel in supporting student success. The CDE recognizes schools on a rotating basis, with this year being elementary schools. Next year will focus on secondary schools.
This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, staff, and families. Through my regular school visits, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the remarkable work happening in classrooms around the district. While we are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the achievements of these four distinguished schools, I want to emphasize the exceptional excellence present in every SRVUSD school. We remain committed to providing a high-quality education for every student, and this award affirms the positive impact of our collective efforts.
Please join me in congratulating the students, staff, and families of John Baldwin, Creekside, Neil Armstrong and Greenbrook for this well-deserved honor.
Thank you for your continued support of SRVUSD and our commitment to excellence in education.
Sincerely,
CJ Cammack
Superintendent
