Dear Middle and High School Students,
Did you know that our school district’s Board of Education has one board member who is a student?
The Board of Education in San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) is responsible for guiding our school district including things like: the district’s budget, new policies, curriculum and bell schedules, etc. Some things being discussed in upcoming SRVUSD board meetings are:
- Adding a cell phone use policy for next school year
- Approving new courses and educational pathways for students
- Budget reductions and the 2025-26 school year
The student board member’s role is to bring the voice, ideas, and viewpoints of students to matters that are being discussed and/or voted upon by the 5 elected adult members of SRVUSD’s Board of Education.
This year, Travis Hodges, a senior at Monte Vista High, is the student Board member. Once a month Travis offers an opportunity to hear directly from the students he represents (YOU) by holding office hours. This is your chance to share an idea, bring forward a concern, ask a question, or just learn more about what is happening in the district.
Sign up for a time to connect virtually with Travis… and you can also consider inviting a friend to join the discussion with you!
