ROBOPLAY CHALLENGE VOLUNTEERS |
We are excited to announce that our first ever Roboplay Challenge is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 8:00 am- 11:30 am. The RoboPlay Challenge Competition is a level playing field robotics competition for students in grades 3-6. It is designed for student teams, based on their math skill levels,
to showcase their real-world math problem solving skills in a competitive environment. This competition features scenario-based problems that require student teams to quickly develop and deploy solutions, using only existing resources with the constraint
of time. The competition challenges students to creatively use modular robots and accessories to complete various tasks. Using their math, programming, and problemsolving skills, student teams try to efficiently obtain the highest score possible for each task on their own. Check out these opportunities to donate or serve as a volunteer to help make this a great event.

MULTICULTURAL CELEBRATION |
Thank you to those who have committed to volunteer to help with this event! We could use more help for all of the countries. We welcome you to share the wonderful things about your culture. Our multicultural celebration, Rex Fortune Passport Around the World Day, Friday, April 25, 2025!
Our celebration will highlight the top 9 countries of birth for students at Rex Fortune Elementary School. Classrooms will partner up to host a table/booth to showcase their assigned country.
To help make this a school community day, we would LOVE for our families to be involved in helping with the displays.
Each table/display may include these items related to the assigned country: -food -art -traditional dress -music -games -location of country on map
-fun fact (s) -and more!
Each classroom group will create a country flag that will be used at dance the same evening
On the day of the event, each student will have a passport. Students will visit tables, learn a little about the countries, jot down an interesting fact or draw a picture, and get their passport stamped. Students will also be provided an activity packet related to the countries.
If you are interested in helping share more about one of these countries and their amazing cultures, please contact the teachers directly. Your children may not be in the classes for the country they are associated with, but that is okay!
Thank you for making this a fun event and learning opportunity.
Our school families are encouraged to visit the day of the event! We'll send out specific times later.

IMMIGRATION RIGHTS-INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES |
Center Joint Unified School District is committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of immigration status, receives a free, safe, and welcoming public education. All students who live within the district’s attendance boundaries may enroll in their local public school—immigration status does not change that, and the latest policy from the new federal administration does not change that. https://www.centerusd.org/Families/Families-Resources/Immigration-Rights---Information-for-Families/index.html |

As we near the end of March let's look at our year-to-date numbers and see how they compare to our attendance goals. - Our attendance rate goal is 95% or higher. We are meeting this goal!
-
One of our School Plan for Student Achievement goals is to reduce the number of students who are considered Moderately to Extremely Chronically Absent to 5% or less. We are currently at 8.9%. This is a great rate and is approximately 10% lower than the district as a whole.
