What a whirlwind of a month it's been! I've been out and about, visiting several of our outstanding schools alongside Superintendent Cammack—San Ramon Valley, Pine Valley, Walt Disney, Green Valley, Twin Creeks, Iron Horse, and Creekside. It’s been great to see the excellent work our teachers and students are doing. I’ve appreciated the open and candid conversations with staff around important topics, like the proposed budget reductions. And it’s always a highlight to hear directly from our students. They’re not shy about sharing what they love at school and offering opinions about how we can improve. Their energy and honesty remind me why I do this work.
I also had a blast presenting at the Be Reel Video Contest Awards Ceremony with the Street Smarts program. Seeing our students' creativity shine was a joy, and I felt proud to celebrate their talent and commitment to making our community safer. It's my honor to serve you—thank you for trusting me to do this work! I'm excited to continue working together. |

#WeAreSRVUSD: Cammack Connection |
This week, I had the opportunity to visit Coyote Creek Elementary, San Ramon Valley High, and Windemere Ranch Middle School. Each campus demonstrated a strong, positive school climate, grounded in a shared commitment to continuous improvement and a collective vision that supports students, staff, and the school community.
As always, the student panels were both insightful and engaging. A common theme was clear - students feel safe, included, and valued on their campuses. These visits are a highlight of my week, providing a firsthand look at the teaching and learning taking place in our classrooms and allowing me to hear directly from students and staff.
I also had the pleasure of joining County Superintendent of Schools, Lynn Mackey, for a surprise visit to Neil Armstrong, where we shared some exciting news with Dima Khoury. Dima, our Elementary Teacher of the Year, has been selected as one of four finalists for the 2025 Elementary Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year. |

SRVUSD is proud to have many former students return to the district as employees. These staff members have lifelong connections with our community, and our students benefit! This week, we highlight Kyle Sprickman, Science and Photography Teacher at Iron Horse Middle School.

School Highlight: Deep Learning and Innovation in Action |
Some lucky Alamo Elementary students had an unforgettable experience during a special paramedic Show and Tell! They got an up-close look at a real ambulance, learned about emergency safety, and discovered what it's like to be a paramedic. A few students got to lie on a stretcher and have their arms wrapped in bandages, bringing the lesson to life in an interactive way. This hands-on visit helped students build awareness, ease fears, and sparked meaningful conversations about helping others in times of need.
A big thank you to ALL the first responders who keep our community safe, and a special thanks to Matt, parent and paramedic, who made this learning experience possible! |

Under the inspiring leadership of teacher Stephanie Stathatos, Greenbrook students brought compassion and teamwork to life during a powerful on-campus service event with Kids Against Hunger. Instead of taking the traditional field trip to the Pleasanton warehouse, they transformed the MPR into a food-packing kitchen - complete with assembly lines, hairnets, and huge hearts.
Students rotated through packing stations, carefully measuring and packing soy protein, dehydrated vegetables, vitamin-fortified powder, and rice into pouches, each designed to provide five servings of nutrition with just the addition of hot water. In just a few short hours, they packed an incredible 14,040 meals.
While the exact destination of the meals is unknown, students came away with something even more meaningful: the knowledge that their efforts will nourish those in need. We are so proud of our Greenbrook students, staff, and volunteers for embracing this opportunity to make a real-world impact and demonstrate the values of empathy, actions, and global citizenship! |
