Berry Creek School “cell tower” news for the public Hello Berry Creek Parents and Community,
We just want to get some information out for some community concerns. 5G is a wireless cellular technology. The tower that is being installed is not what we are installing by the school. What we are installing is a directed microwave radio emitter. Microwave radio is low power and is point to point. A small beamwidth that is directed at a specific location. ATT is required by the FCC to perform a RF Exposure Verification for every microwave radio antenna that we install. This tower is for the high speed internet at the school and it is paid for by a large grant with the rebuild of the school. So the tower is not cellular, it’s not 5G. It points the frequency at a specific receiver on the roof for our internet. And due to the grant and the type of technology, it can be only used by the school. This essentially is the same technology that Berry Creek had installed right before the fire to get high speed internet for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to see Mr. Johnson.

Hello TK-2nd Grade Families! Welcome to February! We are looking forward to spreading the love this month! What's Important? Homework:
Please check the homework folder each night to make sure your child is completing their homework. ASP does not ensure that homework is complete or correct! If you are having trouble getting your child to complete homework, then please let me know. I will work together with you and your child to devise a plan for their success!!
Words to Know:
Each week your child has a list of words in their Reading Folder that they need to memorize. These are either Vocabulary or High Frequency Words. Often these words cannot be sounded out and instead must be memorized. Please find this list and help your child practice memorizing these words, and their meanings. They are an important part of their weekly assessments, and future success with becoming skilled readers! Reading Folder:
Please be sure to complete the reading in the Reading Folder, and the reading log, each night, and send the folder back on Friday. Students who do not complete their reading folder are not getting the much needed practice with the phonics and vocabulary for the week. This is the best way for you to see how well your child is progressing in their reading, and to help them improve. Spelling: Students in grades 1 and 2 have a spelling list each week. Please help them practice their spelling words throughout the week. You can give them practice tests, have them spell words that you recite to them, or research some fun ways to practice as a family at home. Try this link for some ideas! https://scholarwithin.com/10-spelling-activities?srsltid=AfmBOopjawmQfQdvcn9bSR5K-a-DJOBxLLCOMkDe3-Ln2PzLOTc5bWkH Pyramid of Success Blocks for February: Determination: "Slow and steady gets you ready." Success takes lots of time, but don't quit; don't back down. Keep trying, even if you have to start over. Quitters will never succeed because success takes lots of determination. What's Fun?
The BRAVE Experience, grades 1-8, will be taking a trip to Board and Brush DIY Studio, in Chico, on February 22nd, 2025. This trip will be art focused. The field trip forms will go home on February 18th, 2025, and are due back no later than February 21st, 2025. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me at kperez@puesd.org, or call (530) 429-5155.
Sincerely, Miss Perez |

| February already! We've been all in on geometry lately so everybody is in a pretty good math mood. For some reason these guys like measuring area and volume and busting out their protractors. There's nothing like having some classroom harmony! We're studying China in history, and trying to decipher deeper meaning from all our literature. Too often the students are satisfied with the surface meaning of what they read in class. The goal is to go a little farther, and so far so good.
The weather has been a little sketchy lately when it comes to P.E., but the upside of that has been some epic indoor wiffle ball games! When the world gives you lemons, make lemonade! |

With the girls Basketball team just getting started, I am so proud of them!!! We have combined with Concow. Our team name is Smalls for the time being combined, that idea came from us both being small schools. With rarely getting to practice due to weather and having no Gym access, we are doing really good and working well as a team. These girls got thrown right in with the other girls and handled that so well! With great attitude, resilience, & sportsmanship! Please come support us! All games are being held at Oroville Convention Center (The Municipal Auditorium).
I would like to say thank you to parents for all of your support!!! Coach Summer |
