Superintendent Reading Impact Award |
Improving Literacy for all our students remains a huge focus this school year. For our young students, phonological awareness skills are essential to develop good reading skills. Three elementary teachers were recently awarded the Superintendent Impact Reading Award for having the most phonological awareness or phonics growth. Winners were chosen for three grade levels: kindergarten, first, and second. A HUGE congratulations to our award recipients:
Mrs. Linden at Dudley: Her class's phonological awareness increased by 58% as measured by iReady assessments.
Ms. Meier & Ms. Martin at Oak Hill: Their class had a 31% increase in Phonics as measured by iReady assessments.
Ms. Day at Rex Fortune: her class had a 52% increase in Phonics as measured by iReady assessments. |

Showcasing Student Artwork by CHS Students |
Art 1 students at Center High School recently explored tempera paint techniques while learning about color theory! Each student selected a specific color scheme for this project to bring their animal artwork to life. They practiced blending, layering, and creating contrast through thoughtful color choices and careful brushwork. Their creativity and understanding of color shine through in these beautiful pieces! |
