It’s always a pleasure to take part in so many wonderful district activities. Recently, I attended a Student Senate meeting where students are leading important initiatives, including shared leadership opportunities and mental health supports. This morning, I joined Superintendent Cammack on a visit to Neil Armstrong where we experienced the school’s welcoming atmosphere, engaging classrooms and inclusive special education programs. What a special community! Thank you to Principal Gagnon and students and staff. Go Eagles!
I also want to express my gratitude to the staff and community members who attended Tuesday’s Board meeting to advocate for the retention of staff positions. The decisions we have in front of us are difficult ones. I appreciate the passion and concern of our staff, students, and community. Despite the current uncertainty, I remain hopeful that by working together we can navigate these challenges, continuing to support staff and provide an exceptional education for all students.

#WeAreSRVUSD: Cammack Connection |
This week I had the honor of celebrating our Classified Employee of the Year, Kimber Monticelli, at Windemere Ranch. On Wednesday I met with students and staff at Monte Vista and discussed topics such as student mental health, cell phone policies, school safety and new course proposals. A highlight of the day was getting a behind-the-scenes peek at the drama program’s preparations for their production, Mamma Mia! Today I enjoyed spending time at Neil Armstrong and Bollinger Canyon where I was invited to judge the Shark Tank competition in Mrs. Wright’s fifth grade class - a real treat!
The week also included a Board of Education meeting, a Town of Danville Liaison meeting and a Meet and Greet with San Ramon Valley High School PTA and families. While the challenges of budget reductions weigh heavily on all of us right now, I continue to feel inspired by the resilience and commitment of our students, staff, and community. We will get to the other side of this together, united in our shared mission of educating and preparing students for the future.

SRVUSD is proud to have many former students return to the district as employees. These staff members have lifelong connections with our community, and our students benefit! This week we highlight Lindsey Ferreira, Music & Drama Teacher at Stone Valley Middle School. |

Who better to deliver the school news than students themselves? At Walt Disney, Student Council Officers take the mic (or phone) leading announcements and the Pledge of Allegiance while building confidence, leadership and public speaking skills.
Beyond the airwaves, they also run the Disney Depot store, gaining hands-on experience in customer service and money management. The best part? The funds raised go toward an end-of-the-year ‘give back’ project to benefit the school. We can’t wait to see what Colette L, Tate, Colette B and Aashna have in ‘store’ for this year. Way to go, Disney leaders! |

Giving back is more than an act of kindness- it’s a lesson in empathy and leadership. Rancho Romero teamed up with Pledge to Humanity for a meaningful service project, empowering students to support individuals experiencing homelessness. During lunch recess, 1st-5th graders came together to assemble toiletry care kits filled with essential items, showing compassion, teamwork, and a commitment to helping others. Small gestures can make a big difference. We are so proud of our students for making an impact in the community.
