Dear Parents/Caregivers,

We want to inform you about some updates for SRVUSD Summer School programs, effective June 2025. These shifts in programming align with our commitment to meeting the needs of our students within the available resources. Please review the following information and updates:

Students currently in Grades TK-4: No summer school programs for 2025

Students currently in Grades 5-7: The Math Advancement Program (MAP) will remain unchanged from 2024. For more details, please visit the Math webpage.

Students currently in Grades 8-10: Grade remediation will no longer be available via summer school. Students will continue to have the option to remediate a low grade by retaking the course at their home school during the regular school year, or by utilizing SRVUSD Personalized Learning Initiative (PLI) offerings to place up to 40 non-district courses on their transcript.

Students currently in Grade 11: The 2025 Summer School program will offer credit recovery only for rising seniors.

  • These courses will be provided through Edgenuity in an online format, with no in-person instruction.
  • Only non-college prep courses will be available for credit recovery.
  • Students eligible for credit recovery will be contacted by their school counseling team.

Extended School Year (ESY): The ESY program is designed for special education students who have significant disabilities and whose Individualized Education Program (IEP) specifies ESY services. Families of eligible students will be notified directly from the Special Education Office with details.

This year, ESY will operate from Monday, June 16 through Friday, July 11, with June 19 and July 4 as holidays, at three school sites:

  • Preschool/Elementary students at Live Oak
  • Middle/High School students at Dougherty Valley
  • The Adult Transition/REACH program at the Del Campus

We understand that these shifts may have an impact on your plans for the summer, and we are committed to supporting our students and families through this transition. If you have any questions, please reach out to the contacts shared below or visit the Summer School webpage.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
