In September, Trustee Rachel Hurd participated in the meetings of both the Deep Learning & Innovation and the Equity Steering Committees. With new and returning committee members, these first meetings provided an opportunity for a common understanding of the need for the work in these Strategic Directions, what has been done to date, and the direction for the year. “It’s striking to me how much consensus there is when people can sit down and talk together, as well as how great the need is for us to be able to share what is already happening,” she shared.
This week, Trustee Hurd attended “Bring your Grown-up to PE” at Quail Run Elementary. She had a great time exercising with the students and parents in the 4th Grade Mandarin immersion class. “PE-Prep teacher Erin Halonen does such a wonderful job teaching about fitness in such a playful and fun way.” She is looking forward to participating in the SRVEF Run for Education this Sunday, as well as volunteering at bib-pickup on Saturday and at the Mini-Run, following the main event. “This is such an amazing community event that brings together our whole community in support of our schools.” |

#WeAreSRVUSD: Cammack Connection |
Superintendent Cammack enjoyed visits to various schools across the district, connecting with staff and interacting with students (his favorite part of the week). He had the privilege of presenting the Above & Beyond Employee Recognition Award to Llandis Chan, Computer Systems Technician at IHMS and PVMS. In the nomination, Llandis’ colleague shared, “Llandis is an amazing support on our campus. He is responsive to every tech ticket we put in and is dedicated to finding solutions! We are so lucky to have his support and really appreciate him!”
The Superintendent led the fourth Budget Advisory Committee meeting this week, and will attend tonight’s Cal v. SRV football game and Sunday’s San Ramon Valley Education Foundation Run For Education.
