Hello TK-2nd Grade Families!

What's Important?

All students have a Reading Folder coming home each week.  The stories include the spelling patterns and high frequency words that are being mastered for that week. These folders are meant to be done at home with an adult for 15 minutes a night.  Please be sure to complete the reading log each night and send the folder back on Friday.  Students who do not complete their reading folder miss out on fun activities Friday afternoon due to having to make up for the missed practice. They are unique to each grade level, so please check all folders!

All students have a homework folder. Please check the homework folder each night to make sure your child is completing their homework.  ASP does not ensure that homework is complete or correct!

Pyramid of Success Blocks for November : 

Loyalty: "Be Trustworthy." Do what you say you will do. Be honest and give respect to others.  When you are loyal, others will be loyal to you!

Cooperation: "Be more interested in finding the best way, not having your way." Cooperation means working together in all ways to accomplish a goal.  Following directions is the best way to show cooperation!

What's Fun?

The BRAVE Experience took a couple kids to DeGarmo Park and Bowlero in Chico.  Fun was had by all!  Please see the attached pictures from the day.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024 we have a trip planned to Sacramento to see the Dinos Alive Immersive Experience!  Please keep an eye out for more information as we get closer to the date.

Mr.Peet's Corner

    As October comes to an end we're all starting to feel settled in to our new school. The kids have helped out immensely with moving stuff around, organizing shelves and figuring out how this place works. We still have work to do but it seems like it's all coming together. 

    In class we've been focusing on some math basics since everyone was a little rusty after the long summer break. Solid progress is being made. As always we've been writing every day with focus on detail and elaboration. We're studying the middle east in history, and trying to learn the states and capitals of the U.S.

    As part of their daily homework, students are often asked to read a chapter or two from an ongoing class novel. I've been having a little trouble with some of the kids on follow through.  Any help I can get from parents on this would be appreciated.

    It looks like everyone had a nice Halloween and I'm looking forward to November.
