Dear Las Lomitas Community,
As we announced last night, the district and LLEA have reached a tentative agreement. LLEA members will vote to ratify the agreement this week; the board will do the same at its meeting on November 6. In the meantime, the strike has ended, and the district will resume normal operations tomorrow morning. Here are the details of the three-year agreement: - A 7% ongoing salary increase (paid retroactively) starting in 2023-24
- An additional 5% ongoing salary increase effective January 1, 2025
- An additional 4% ongoing salary increase effective January 1, 2026
- An extension of the $3,358 “tenure” stipend to all teachers
- Health benefits equal to 100% coverage of a Kaiser individual plan plus dental, vision and life insurance for 2025 and 2026
- Three additional instructional days for the 2024-25 school year.
We will let you know the timing of the additional school days as soon as we coordinate with the LLEA. The days will likely be woven into the current school-year calendar (not added after school is scheduled to end in June).
We’re relieved to be returning to campus with our students, teachers and staff working together to restore our educational community. As we move forward, we’ll need the help of the broader community to support the district’s rebuilding and rebalancing efforts. In shared commitment to our students, Dr. Beth Polito Superintendent Heather Hopkins Board President |
