Dear SD 308 Families,
Tonight is the start of Friday Night Lights, a valued community tradition. Our football teams kick off their season, and many students and families will fill stadiums to show their school spirit! Best of luck to our Panthers and Wolves tonight- each hosting home games! Special thanks to the many staff and volunteers who come together to make these incredible game experiences fun and safe for all attendees.
Thank you for your support and understanding earlier this week when we modified our school schedule in response to the heat. This difficult decision was made with the safety of our students and staff, especially during travel in buses, as our top priority. We value your input and are here to address any concerns; please do not hesitate to reach out with any feedback or ideas, we strive for continuous improvement.
As you know, the SD 308 Board of Education is our school district's governing body. Membership on this board is held by volunteers who have a deep commitment to seeing the success of our amazing district. Included in next April’s election, there will be four SD 308 Board of Education seats. To help inform the community about the process and steps set forth by the State of Illinois, we have created an information page on our website. I encourage you to take a look at the links and learning opportunities if this is a role you may be considering. If there is anything else I can address for you, please set up a time for us to chat.

Our first day of school across the district was nothing short of AMAZING! The big smiles and excitement while staff worked hard to make this day the best for our students. Thank you for all your support as we settle into this new school year full of opportunity!
