September was a busy month. Students are in a new school with new rules, new students, and new ways to do things. They are resilient; though, and they will master and absorb it all. Students are in their groups for both math and reading, and they are doing well with getting the routine down. We are now in October, which should be Fall weather. It has been really hot in the afternoon. Your child may need a jacket or sweater for the morning, but cooler clothes in the afternoon. Dress them in layers, so they can take off and put on what they need to moderate their temperature. Physical Education (PE) is on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Please have your child wear or bring appropriate shoes and clothing for those days. Shoes that don’t have straps in the back can cause slipping and injuries. Let us know if you need assistance. Homework is sent home Monday through Thursday. Please ensure that your child has completed their homework daily. There is always a reading log, and a math homework page. The only day that there may not be a math homework page is the day that the students have a test.
Log into your Aeries Parent Portal. I update student grades frequently, so you will be able to track their progress from week to week. If you need assistance with logging into the Parent Portal email me at jmcintosh@puesd.org or call the front office at (530) 589-1633 |

It's been a crazy but fun start to the year. Almost every day during class we've had workers milling about while we forge ahead. The kids don't seem to be bothered by it at all as things slowly come together. So far I've been loving this class when it comes to work ethic and respect in class. Math, English, History, Science and P.E.are cruising along at a pace that's been surprisingly fast considering the confusion of moving in. Hopefully as things settle down it'll only get better. I think it will.

Dear Berry Creek Families,
We have so many fun things to look forward to this month in after school. On Thursday, October 24th we have our annual event Lights on After School! A flier with more information will be sent out as we get closer to the date. On Thursday, October 31
Parents Club and ASP will be hosting our annual Trunk-or-Treat event, this time finally at home! More details pertaining to the Trunk-or-Treat event will be sent out closer to the date as well. Thank you for your patience and understanding when receiving
updates about events.
After School is off to an amazing start in our fantastic room. Just as a friendly
reminder, the after-school program is not a homework completion program. Students are given 45 minutes to work on their homework in a quiet and supportive environment.
Please do not let your students bring toys from home to the after-school program as they may get broken or lost.
There is a waiting list for ASP, students are expected to come to ASP at least 3 days a week. If your child cannot attend 3 days a week, you may be asked to give up your child’s spot in ASP so another student can join the program. If you have any
questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call or email Miss Jenna.
