Parent Update Friday, October 4, 2024 |
Dear SD 308 Community,
As we welcome the beautiful fall season, I’m filled with gratitude for the vibrant community we share. I’m excited to announce our 11th Annual Food Drive, taking place soon, October 14-23. This year, we aim to surpass an incredible milestone: collecting over 2 million total items to support our neighbors in need.
Each year, our district proudly contributes the largest single donation to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry, making a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors. We are thrilled to continue this tradition and invite you to be a part of it. This food drive is not only an opportunity to give back but also a chance for us to come together in a friendly competition between schools, fostering teamwork and spirit while raising awareness about hunger and food insecurity. I encourage each of you to join our efforts. Your participation can significantly impact our community. Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved.
From September 15 through October 15, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic and Latino communities have left an indelible mark on art, music, literature, science, politics, education, and countless other domains. Their enduring legacy is not only a source of pride for those who share this heritage but also a source of inspiration for all of us who recognize the power of diversity in shaping our shared humanity. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to making our community of learning a beautiful example of collaboration!
Warm regards, |
