A Note From Mrs. Stoffers

Good afternoon!

As we settle into our school year I wanted to share a few safety reminders to ensure we are keeping all students, staff members, and families safe during our arrival and dismissal procedures as well as being considerate of our Hunt Club neighborhood.

*In Illinois, it is illegal to park within 30 feet of a stop sign or 20 feet of a crosswalk.

*In Illinois, it is illegal to stop or park in front of a driveway.

Please keep these laws in mind for the safety of everyone. Also, cars should not enter the buslane before (8:00-9:00 am) and after school (3:00-4:00 pm).

Our Fun Run has started! Please see the information below about how you can join the fun and also support our school. The money collected for this Fundraiser helps lower the cost of Field Trips for all students, provide additional supplies to classrooms, support Home and School sponsored events like dances, etc, and show appreciation to our teachers during teacher appreciation. We appreciate your support and appreciate the work our Home and School has put forth to make this fundraiser a success.

Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) takes place September 15 to October 15 every year as a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community. ALL students are encouraged to express their unique cultural identities by wearing attire that represents their heirtage on the next four Fridays, beginning September 20th. Let's celebrate our diversity together.

Here Comes the Bus App

We are happy to announce our new mobile device app and website entitled Here Comes the Bus®.

Here Comes the Bus allows you to view the real-time location of your child’s school bus on your smartphone, tablet or computer. With it, you will have the information you need to send your children to the bus stop at just the right time, helping to protect them from inclement weather or other issues, and know when their bus is heading back at the end of the school day.

Here Comes the Bus is free to use, and enables you to:

* See the location of your child’s bus both before and after school

* Confirm that your child’s bus has arrived at the bus stop, at school or both

* Receive a push notification or email message when the bus is near your stop, has been

substituted, or when we have important information to relay

You can use Here Come the Bus in one of two ways. First, either download the mobile app by visiting the App Store or Google Play and searching for “Here Comes the Bus” (the app is available in English, Spanish and French). Second, simply visit www.herecomesthebus.com from your computer or tablet.

Once you have the app or web site open, follow the steps below to set up an account to track your child’s school bus:

Click the “Sign Up” button

Enter the code – 3080 – and click “Next” followed by “Confirm”

Complete the “User Profile” section, including setting up your password

Under “My Students” click “Add,” and enter your child’s last name and student ID number

Once you confirm your information your account is set and you are ready to begin using Here Comes the Bus.

Brunch with BPAC Event

CASAS at Hunt Club-Building a Stronger Community

Our students had lunch with their Casas on Wednesday. This was a unique experience that made many of our older students uncomfortable. We are working to provide opportunities for students to build stronger connections and our staff is here to support! Next Wednesday we will incorporate some games for the older students to encourage conversations and provide some fun! Please help bridge this change with your child as we challenge our students to make new connections and build more friendships. Together we are better!

Home and School Information and Updates

TODAY is the last day to order Hunt Club spirit wear for a guaranteed September 27th delivery to the school! Please click here to order!

Our Fun Run fundraiser started this week! Thank you to all of our families that have worked hard to spread the word and a special thank you to all of our generous donors! We still have a ways to go to meet our goal!

Over the weekend, we are challenging all of our students to ask for donations! The class with the most money raised over the weekend will win a visit from a costumed mystery reader to their class! Every dollar counts! Please visit the fundraising website here.

The Fun Run will take place on Thursday, September 19th with a rain date of Friday, September 20th. PLEASE have your children wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the race!!

Health Form Requirements

Hi Hunt Club, my name is Nurse Randi and I'm your school nurse! I joined the Hunt Club staff during the 2013-2014 school year and haven't looked back since. Mrs. Bonnie Spevere will also be back in the nurse's office with me in the Health Office Secretary position. We look forward to another great school year! Please see below for important nurse office information for the beginning of the school year. Feel free to bring any paperwork or medications to preview night!

KINDERGARTEN AND NEW/INCOMING STUDENT HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

--State of IL Physical Exam Form + Up to Date Immunizations due by September 15, 2024

*Your student(s) may face exclusion from school if the correct physical/immunization forms are not turned in by this date.

*Physical forms must be dated 8/15/2023 or after

--Eye Exam Form due by October 15, 2024

--Dental Exam Form due by May 15, 2025

Forms can be brought to school, sent in with your student, emailed, or faxed to the contact info below! Please do NOT upload forms to PowerSchool as we may be unable to access them on our end.

SD308 Health Forms & Documents

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

The SD308 Medication Authorization form must be completed and signed by a doctor and parent before a medication can be given at school. This applies to ALL medication, prescription and over the counter including: Acetaminophen, Motrin, eye drops, allergy medications, antibiotics, inhalers, cough drops, etc. Medications MUST be transported to/from school by an ADULT, not your student.

WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL

-Vomiting and/or diarrhea within last 24 hours

-Fever (greater than 100.0)

-Shortness of breath or wheezing, not controlled with an inhaler (if applicable)

-Constant or uncontrolled cough/coughing that wakes child in the night

-Rash that has not been evaluated/cleared by physician

-Drainage + redness from one or both eyes

-Severe sore throat
