Dear Auburn Elementary Families and Community,
I am informing you about an important update that will impact our school schedule beginning the 2024-2025 school year. This change comes as part of the recent agreement between the Auburn Union Elementary School District (AUSD) and the Auburn Union Teachers Association (AUTA), which was just released earlier today from the district office.
Starting next school year, all Auburn Union School District sites, including Auburn Elementary, will uniformly start at 8 AM. This adjustment is intended to streamline our daily routines, ensure a consistent learning schedule for all students and align all teaching staff across AUSD during their professional development (PD) and professional learning community (PLC) hours. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and effective TK-8 transition across all sites. This change allows us the time needed to align our practices and explore innovative teaching strategies district-wide, fostering an enriching and cohesive educational experience during this pivotal period.
To help you plan accordingly, here is the new bell schedule:
TK/Kindergarten:
PLC Monday: 8 AM - 1 PM
Regular Day: 8 AM - 1 PM
Minimum Day: 8 AM - 12:20 PM
Grades 1-8:
PLC Monday: 8 AM - 1:25 PM
Regular Day: 8 AM - 2:15 PM
Minimum Day: 8 AM - 12:20 PM
We understand that this change may require some adjustments on your part, and we are committed to providing support throughout this transition. Please know that our after school programs will be available to all students, offering a safe and enriching environment at the beginning and/or end of the school day.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this new schedule. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us.
Warm regards,
Kim Morris
Principal, Auburn Elementary School
