September is right around the corner

Fall is my favorite time of the year! I cannot wait for falling leaves, sweaters and pumpkins.  It's coming!! One way to stay up-to-date on all things happening at Walt Disney this fall (and all year long) is to subscribe to the PTA newsletter. A lot of great information about the school and community events are shared each Thursday. You can click this link to add your information and you will start getting the newsletter this Thursday.

Schoo Site Council

We're excited to announce that we're looking for four new members to join our School Site Council for the upcoming school year! This is a fantastic opportunity to be actively involved in supporting the future of our school.

Members will serve on the council for two years and play an important role in decision-making processes that impact our students, staff, and community. Candidates will be voted in by the community, and we encourage all interested families to consider participating.

If you're interested in being a candidate, please complete this Google form by Friday, August 30. Voting will take place next week. We look forward to your involvement and appreciate your support!

Playground Use after School

It is safe to say that the students LOVE our new playground. It is so fun to watch students in all grades engage on the new structure. 

We have noticed a number of students playing afterschool instead of waiting at carpool or heading home. We want to make sure everyone after school is where they should be and are safely being supervised. 

I want to remind our community that the playground in not open as a park until 15 minutes after the school day ends. Families, please wait off of the grass area with your children until 2:45 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and until 1:05 on Wednesdays. This is a district policy that helps ensure the safety of all students. 

I appreciate your support and partnership as we work together to make sure all students are safe after school!
