Dear San Ramon Valley High School Community,
I am honored and grateful to introduce myself as the new principal of San Ramon Valley High School. Having spent the past two years as your assistant principal, I have come to deeply appreciate the rich traditions and unwavering commitment to excellence that have been the hallmark of our school for over a century.
Guided by my core beliefs of compassion, gratitude, and mindfulness, I am committed to upholding our high standards while also embracing opportunities for growth and improvement. Our shared values of Community, Integrity, Responsibility, Courage, Love, Empowerment, and Service (C.I.R.C.L.E.S.) will continue to be the foundation of all our endeavors.
My journey in education began 23 years ago as a Resource Specialist at Foothill Middle School in Walnut Creek, and I had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal at Dougherty Valley High School for four years before coming to SRV. I am deeply grateful for the support I have received throughout my career from colleagues, mentors, and friends. Their guidance and encouragement have been invaluable. Additionally, I want to thank those in our community who have already reached out to welcome me into this new role.
As a parent myself, I understand the joys and challenges of supporting high school students. With one child having recently graduated and another just entering high school, I am keenly aware of the vital role that families play in the educational journey. I am dedicated to fostering a strong partnership with all of you to ensure that every student at San Ramon Valley High School thrives.
In the coming months and years, I look forward to working collaboratively with our talented staff, dedicated parents/caregivers, and the broader community. Together we will build upon the momentum already in place, nurturing an environment where students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate intentionally. I am committed to maintaining open lines of communication and developing strong relationships within our community.
Please know that the safety and well-being of our students are paramount, and we will continue to foster a culture of inclusivity. I aspire for every student to leave our campus each day feeling that they are a part of something special — a home where they feel supported, included and valued.
While this is my 23rd year in education and my seventh year as an administrator, it is my first year as a site principal, and I am humbled by this. I recognize that challenges will come with this work and title, but I am committed to meeting those challenges to the best of my abilities. This work is not about “me”, but about how we grow together and support our students to be the best they can be in these ever-changing times.
