Dear Golden View Staff and Families,
Please see this message below from our partners in the City of San Ramon regarding their upcoming roadwork project near Golden View Elementary.
We appreciate and thank everyone for your patience while we resolved concerns shared about this upcoming road work project. The resurfacing work only involves placing a maintenance treatment on the surface which consists of oil and small aggregate and requires a few hours to dry before opening the roadway to traffic. The treatment being used is far less disruptive than other types of roadway improvements.
We understand the impact it will have on staff, parents/caregivers, and students, and we want to minimize that impact as much as possible. In speaking with the contractor, they will be working around the school bell schedule as much as possible and will assign a flag person to assist with pedestrian activities during drop-off and pick-up times. Closure of segments along Canyon Crest Drive will begin after the last student drop-off around 8:30 AM and will remain closed until 2:30 PM.
We ask that the school make the following adjustments the week of May 6 (see map below):
Monday, May 6
Wednesday, May 8
No work/no adjustments needed during pick-up and drop-off
Tuesday, May 7
Thursday, May 9

School vehicular traffic MUST come to the school through the intersection of Crow Canyon Road at Canyon Crest Drive EAST and make a left into the school driveway for pick up and drop off.
- The school loop will be used as normal for drop-off and pick-up. Carpools and afterschool vanpools may drop off and pick up as they normally do in front of the school.

On-street parking along Canyon Crest Drive, Quartermaster Canyon Road, and Canyon Crest Avenue will be available alternately for TK/Kindergarten guardians to park and walk their students to the classrooms.
- Vehicles will not be able to access the drop-off and pick-up area behind the school, which is reached by the stairs from the field to Canyon Crest Drive.
Friday, May 10

- The school loop will be used as normal for drop-off and pick-up. Carpools and afterschool vanpools may drop off and pick up as they normally do in front of the school.

Vehicles will be able to access the drop-off and pick-up area behind the school, which is reached by the stairs from the field to Canyon Crest Drive. This area will only be accessible to vehicles entering and exiting through Crow Canyon Road and Canyon Crest Drive West.
Our staff will monitor the work as it happens to ensure that the operations for this project go as smoothly as possible with minimized impact on everyone. Thank you for understanding as we improve the roadway infrastructure.
