Principal’s Message: Time is flying by!! Rebuilding is moving forward as fast as it can to hopefully have our classrooms ready in August! It is construction so things sometimes don’t go as planned. We are all keeping our fingers crossed!!
There are a lot of things happening in the classrooms as we approach June. Third through eighth grade will be participating in state testing for two weeks in May. Testing includes English Language Arts, Math, and for 5th grade Science and P.E.! We are trying to finish up as many lessons as we can approaching the end of the year. We need your support in having your child well rested and ready to learn each and every day! Please review their work they bring home and share your positive feedback, it really makes a difference!! Thank you as always for help and support!
I hope to see everyone at the awards assembly at the end of the year to support students and staff in the wonderful job they have done all year!! Fondly, Mrs.Oxford |

As we wind down the year we're as busy as ever. Our main focus will be state testing and constitution test preparation. At the same time students are finishing up their career reports. Tuesday the 30th our eighth graders will be visiting Las Plumas high school for a tour of all things LP! May 16th will mark our last track meet, 4 p.m. Harrison Field. This is the ribbon meet so everyone will be there. Hopefully you can come support us!

Hello TK-2nd Grade Families! We had a great time at Quarry Park and SkyZone this past Saturday!! What we will be learning in May: What's New??? We have started a new PE unit: Manipulatives, In this unit we are throwing and catching with different types of balls, learning to use a Ribbon Wand, and learning to use a hoola-hoop in different ways. The kiddos are doing a great job and having fun! Pyramid of Success Blocks for Poise and Confidence:
Poise: "Just be yourself. Do not act or pretend to be something you're not. Your goal is not to satisfy the expectations of others, but to satisfy your own expectations!"
Confidence: "You must believe in yourself if you expect others to believe in you." Have faith in yourself and what you can achieve. ELA:
TK/K are finishing up Unit 5, and will start unit 6:
1st graders are finishing up unit 4, and are reviewing high frequency and sound spelling patterns that didn't stick from unit previous weeks. Please be sure that your child is reading from their reading folders each night to help reinforce these patterns.
2nd grade is finishing up unit 6 in the next 2 weeks, and then will start a group project called Amazing Whales! MATH:
TK and Kindergarten are learning Geometry. 1st grade is starting chapter 10: Data. In this chapter they learn how to collect and organize data into graphs and charts.
2nd grade is learning how to count money. Please give them real world opportunities to count out change. |

April was a busy month! We did lots of fun things like make cotton candy out of jolly ranchers, thanks to Mrs. Lilly bringing in her cotton candy machine! Some of the 3rd grade boys worked together on RC Cars, very focused. ASP has been doing their homework and reading stories outside, so everyone can enjoy the beautiful weather! Just a friendly reminder that ASP encourages students not to bring toys from home as it is easy for them to get misplaced or broken. Toys from the PBIS Student Store on Fridays are OK.
We encourage students to work on their homework for the homework hour provided. Students are able to receive help on their homework from several staff members and have access to school supplies. After school program is not a homework completion program.
Thank you for your continued support! Call or email me if you have questions about your student in ASP. Site Coordinator Jenna Miller 530-282-2025 (or call the main office, and leave a message)
