Message from Principal Pawlicki

Hello JR. RedHawk Families,

This week at Campo we have been working hard and having fun! I enjoy walking around and seeing all of the engaging activities happening in the classroom. I have seen classes doing a deep-dive into math facts, summarizing reading in a novel study, engaging phonics lessons, cooperative learning in groups and more! We are so lucky to have teachers that work hard to make learning fun! Ask your student what they learned in school this week!

You may have noticed that we have a new addition outside our front doors. We just had a bulletin board installed where we can display important flyers and information. 

Our attendance team determined Fridays are our lowest attendance days, we have been having fun activities every Friday to encourage our students to come to school. Today was Candy Cane attire or creative red and white colors. We loved seeing all of our students dressing up and enjoying these activities. Unfortunately, we have continued to see a large number of absences on Fridays. If you happen to have activities, or appointments scheduled on Friday, please consider checking out students early, rather than having them miss all day.

Congratulations Mrs. Cochran's Class

Best Attendance 12/04/2023 to 12/08/2023!

Last week, the winner of our new weekly attendance trophy is Mrs. Cochran's 1st grade class with 96% attendance 12/04/2023 to 12/08/2023. 

This week, Mrs. Cochran's had the best attendance again with 95% attendance for the week of 12/11/2023 to 12/15/2023. Great work first grade!

That class will hold the trophy all next week - look for their class photo in next week's newsletter!

 Holiday Performances

Campo Jr. Redhawk Families - please join us Tuesday December 19th for an all-school Holiday Performance in our cafeteria.

-Families of Preschool - 2nd grade students are invited to the 9:30am show.
-Families of 3rd - 6th grade students are invited to our 2pm show.

We also ask families do not take students home early after the 9:30am show as students are preforming in both events.

Campo Elementary Students enjoyed a fun night at the Viejas Ice Rink on Wednesday.

2nd & 4th Grade Popcorn Parties!

Students are excited to spend their hard-earned Character Cards on popcorn parties for their classes! Our students are amazingly kind and have developed great classroom communities this school year!

San Ysidro Health - Nutrition Basics Session 

Thank you, San Ysidro Health, for your time discussing nutrition with our 4th Grade students again this week. It was exciting to see them up and moving and setting SMART goals.

Abound Newsletter for the Week of December 18th

As winter break approaches, we encourage families to use Abound during the vacation days to have fun together, and build key skills, too.

We challenge them to collect as many stars as they can and report back after break with how many they got! *Reminder - families get a star on the app every time they complete an Abound task!
